Youth

Although young people are the least likely of any age to drink and drive, the ones who do are at very high risk of collision. This is demonstrated by the fact that 40% of the teen drivers who have been killed have been drinking. Males account for 87% of the young fatally injured drinking drivers! In nearly 2/3 of the alcohol involved multiple vehicle crashes, it was the fatally injured teen driver who had been drinking and not the other driver.

In Canada, one in every 8 deaths and injuries in road crashes is a teenager. More teenagers die each year as a result of road crashes than any other cause of death.

High School can be a difficult time for teens, but you can find the courage to make the right choices regarding your friends, and your future.
