Volunteer With Us

We would be honoured to have you on our team!

MADD Canada is a grassroots organization whose success comes from the many volunteers that we have in our chapters.

As a MADD Toronto volunteer, you’ll help raise awareness about the dangers of impaired driving (drinking and / or drugs) and help make our communities and roadways safer. Whether you’re a board member; a victim services volunteer; a fundraising volunteer or a public speaking volunteer, don’t ever doubt the significance of your efforts in support of our mission.

On average, just under 4 Canadians are killed and 207 people are injured daily as a result of alcohol and / or drug-related crashes. With your help, we’ll continue to support victims of this violent crime and help reduce the number of impaired driving crashes in our communities.

MADD Toronto offers many volunteer opportunities for people concerned about safety in their community. Please click on one of the links below to find out more about any of our opportunities. Thank you for wanting to make a difference.

If you would like to become a Member in addition to volunteering, or would like to be a Member only, please visit our page on membership.

Remember: impaired driving crashes are totally preventable. They are not accidents! You can help make a difference by changing attitudes and making sure drivers make the right choice each time they get behind the wheel. Even if you do not have time to volunteer, please make sure that you, your friends, your family members and anyone else you know DOES NOT drink and drive. If everyone in Canada had a friend like that looking out for them, we would not have the tragedies that we do today.

Public Policy

Informing local politicians and the media of MADD Canada’s initiatives either in person or through regular correspondence. It is important to maintain this contact so that the politicians know that we are in their community, fighting for change and hopefully they will support us in our goals of changing the laws to fit the crime.

Marketing and Development

Communications (including website)

Help streamline and ensure our communications to the public are clear and easy to understand. This includes our website, brochures, press releases and newsletters.

Media Relations

Individuals assist in speaking to the media during local and national initiatives as well as maintaining contact with local papers through community-focused articles.

Through media, we are able to further educate the public (regarding the cause and regarding our events) and further encourage the newly evolved societal belief that drinking and driving is NOT acceptable.

School/Youth Initiatives

Maintain regular contact with school and youth group representatives regarding our initiatives and our programming (such as the Poster, Essay and Multi-media Contest), as well as coordinate with various school groups to co-participate in events like Parades, Awareness Events, etc.

You may also become involved with one of our sub-groups, Trinity Students Against Impaired Driving at the University of Toronto. Or, if you are interested in starting your own university group, we can help.
